Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel Aaty spoke by phone with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to review bilateral relations and regional developments.
The two ministers praised the depth of Egypt–UAE ties and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation across all fields, building on the momentum in relations to serve the interests of both nations. They discussed ways to boost institutional cooperation and emphasised the importance of disregarding misleading narratives in some media about the strong partnership.
On regional matters, the two ministers stressed the need to intensify efforts to de-escalate tensions, return to diplomacy and uphold the US–Iran memorandum of understanding, while ensuring respect for international law and freedom of navigation.
They also addressed developments in Gaza and the West Bank, calling for the implementation of the first phase of the US peace plan. They also voiced rejection of Israeli escalation that undermines prospects for peace and the two‑state solution. Both ministers highlighted the importance of preserving Palestinian unity across Gaza and the West Bank.
On Sudan, the two ministers exchanged assessments of the crisis and ongoing regional and international efforts, stressing the need for continued coordination to support Sudan’s stability and ease humanitarian suffering.
