Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid took part in the “Capital Market Development Package” conference on Monday alongside the finance minister, the head of the Financial Regulatory Authority and senior officials.

Minister Farid highlighted Egypt’s integrated economic reform vision aimed at strengthening competitiveness, improving the investment climate and expanding private sector participation. He pointed to ongoing legislative, institutional and procedural reforms designed to create a more efficient business environment, supported by digital transformation and streamlined services.

The minister explained that the ministry is redesigning the investor journey to make it faster, easier and more transparent, with the new Economic Entities Platform providing a unified digital window for company establishment, licensing and approvals. He also noted the electronic linkage between investment authorities, regulators and the stock exchange to accelerate capital increases and facilitate corporate expansion.

According to Minister Farid, capital market development is central to attracting investment, with measures to simplify listing procedures, encourage mergers and acquisitions and broaden the base of listed companies. He underlined the importance of awareness campaigns to highlight the benefits of market participation and financing opportunities.

He also reviewed the “Egypt Export Launch” initiative, which seeks to expand the exporter base and support companies in meeting international standards, enhancing production and marketing capacities and boosting access to global markets.

The minister concluded that reforms aim to reduce business costs, promote productive investment, localise industry, transfer technology and create sustainable jobs, reinforcing Egypt’s position as a competitive and attractive investment destination.
