Egypt’s Cabinet has approved on Thursday the extension of its remote work policy, allowing eligible employees at government entities and public-sector establishments covered by a previous prime ministerial decree to continue working from home every Sunday throughout August 2026.
The decision extends the provisions of Prime Ministerial Decree No. 982 of 2026, under which remote work is applied one day a week for employees at the entities specified in the decree.
The Cabinet said the arrangement will remain in effect for the entire month of August, with Sunday designated as the weekly remote work day for eligible staff.
