RABAT — The Egyptian youth judo team topped the standings and claimed the African Championship trophy in individual events held in Morocco.
Egypt secured 13 total medals, including six gold, three silver, and four bronze. Algeria finished second with 14 medals, including three gold, five silver, and six bronze, while Morocco came third with five medals, including three gold and two bronze.
Gold medals were won by Youssef El-Kassar (73 kg), Yassin Sabra (60 kg), Ahmed Bahaa (81 kg), Ammar Abou Hashem (90 kg), Jana Yagout (87 kg), and Mostafa El-Ramly (100 kg).
Silver medals went to Youssef Lotfy (73 kg), Bushra Idris (63 kg), and Safa Soliman (+78 kg), while bronze medals were claimed by Shorouk Mohamed (48 kg), Mostafa Hamada (66 kg), Maryam Soliman (57 kg), and Abdullah Hamdy (+100 kg).
Egyptian Judo Federation President Mohamed Moti’ congratulated the national team players, coaches, and administrative staff on their achievement.
He praised their outstanding performances, saying the title reflects Egypt’s success in building a generation capable of competing at the continental and international levels.
