Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli met today with Sameh Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, to review the executive status of the Terminal 4 project at Cairo International Airport.

Madbouli stressed the government’s strong commitment to modernising Egypt’s civil aviation sector through upgrading airport infrastructure, enhancing service quality, and reinforcing the highest safety and security standards, all aimed at improving passenger experience and boosting the competitiveness of Egyptian airports regionally and internationally.

For his part, Minister Hefny presented the strategic vision and progress of Terminal 4, one of the national projects designed to strengthen Cairo International Airport’s position as a regional and global hub for air transport.

The project is set to raise the airport’s total capacity to around 70 million passengers annually, aligning with expected growth in travel demand and supporting Egypt’s geographic advantage as a key connector between Africa, Asia, and Europe.

The minister highlighted that the project incorporates advanced global concepts in airport design and operations, including artificial intelligence applications, digital transformation, and smart, sustainable systems to improve service quality and operational efficiency.

Environmental sustainability and resource efficiency are central to the project, ensuring compliance with international standards.

He added that Terminal 4 represents a strategic investment in the future of Egypt’s aviation industry, enhancing Cairo Airport’s competitiveness, increasing transit traffic, attracting more international airlines, and supporting tourism, trade, and investment.

The project also contributes to Egypt’s Vision 2030 by positioning the country as a leading regional hub for transport and logistics, while reinforcing the civil aviation sector’s role in national economic growth and sustainable development.
