President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday administered the constitutional oath of office to the newly appointed heads of Egypt’s top judicial bodies.
Those sworn in were Counsellor Rabie Ahmed Mohamed Labna as President of the Court of Cassation, Counsellor Mahmoud Ibrahim Mohamed Abou El-Dahab as President of the State Council, Counsellor Abdel Nasser Abou El-Azm Eissa as President of the State Lawsuits Authority, and Counsellor Huda Ahmed Mohamed Eissa as President of the Administrative Prosecution Authority.
Meanwhile, President Sisi awarded the Order of the Republic, First Class, to former President of the Court of Cassation Counsellor Assem Abdel Latif El Saeed El-Ghayesh, former President of the State Council Counsellor Osama Youssef Shalaby, and former President of the Administrative Prosecution Authority Counsellor Mohamed Ahmed Khalil El Shennawy, in recognition of their dedicated service to the nation, their efforts to uphold justice, and their contributions to the development of Egypt’s judicial system, Presidency Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy said.
President Sisi received the new judicial chiefs and wished them success in carrying out their national responsibilities. He also voiced confidence in their ability to boost the rule of law and uphold the principles of justice and equality for all citizens, Spokesman El Shennawy added.
The president also reaffirmed the commitment of all state institutions to safeguarding the independence of the judiciary, enforcing the law, and upholding the values of justice and fairness, which he described as fundamental pillars of the modern Egyptian state under the New Republic.
President Sisi also commended the pivotal role of Egypt’s judicial institutions in protecting public funds and state assets, combating corruption and terrorism, and safeguarding citizens’ rights, freedoms and property.
He further commended the progress achieved in accelerating litigation procedures, enhancing the efficiency of the judiciary, and expanding women’s representation within the judicial system.
