CAIRO — Egypt’s national taekwondo team finished second at the 2026 European Clubs Championship Seniors (G1) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, despite competing with only four athletes.
Egypt secured the runner-up spot after Olympic medalist Seif Eissa won gold in the men’s over-87kg category, while Moataz Bellah Assem claimed gold in the under-54kg division.
Adham El Sheikh added a bronze medal in the under-87kg category.
The Egyptian team’s participation in the tournament comes as part of the strategy adopted by the Egyptian Taekwondo Federation, headed by Mohamed Mostafa, to ensure broad participation in international competitions in order to monitor athletes’ progress, collect ranking points and increase international exposure for national team members.
