CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aati asserted that cooperation with the Nile Basin and African countries is a main axis in the Egyptian foreign policy in light of Egypt’s massive human potentials and technical expertise in many fields ,including water resources management.

Several development projects are implemented under this co-operation to benefit citizens of these states to contribute to achieving sustainable development and improving the living conditions of the people.

The minister made the remarks at the end of a training course of 20 trainees of Nile-basin countries in the field of hydraulic engineering. The course was organized by the National Water Research Center.

Abdel Aati welcomed the African trainees, expressing hope to achieve the aim of the course which is improving and developing the abilities of the researchers and the specialists in addition to transferring expertise.

Abdel Aati pointed out to the training courses of his ministry which are presented to the African brethren to boost human capabilities development and improve water resources management.

The trainees are from Egypt, Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Eritrea, Ghana, Zambia, Malawi, Cameron, Burkina Faso, Chad, Gabon, Guinea Conakry, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Nigeria, Niger, Sierra Leon, Angola, Senegal, Somalia and Djibouti.
