Remittances from Egyptians working abroad recorded strong performance during the 2025/2026 fiscal year, continuing their upward trajectory and playing a pivotal role in supporting Egypt’s foreign currency resources. Transfers rose by 33.2% year-on-year in the first ten months (July–April), reaching a record $39.2 billion compared to $29.4 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
On a monthly basis, remittances in April 2026 increased by 44%, registering $4.3 billion against $3 billion in April 2025. This reflects the ongoing recovery of inflows through official channels and underscores the growing contribution of expatriate transfers to the stability of Egypt’s balance of payments and foreign reserves.
