Ministry of International Co-operation officials Thursday met with Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Senik, who is on an official visit to Cairo, to discuss preparations for the forthcoming 8th Joint Egyptian-Ukrainian Committee meeting in Cairo.
Senik is holding consultations in Cairo on means of enhancing economic cooperation with Egypt.
In his meeting with the Ministry of International Co-operation officials. The two sides discussed furthering co-operation in agriculture, infrastructure and the manufacture of machinery and furniture.
They also discussed the possibility of a joint business forum on the sidelines of the joint committee meeting.
The joint committee meeting is to formulate a legal framework for cooperation between Cairo and Kyiv.
The committee is also tasked with way of facilitating trade between and strengthening relations between the private sector of the two countries.
Egypt and Ukraine wish to increase mutual investment by encouraging businessmen in both countries to play a greater role in development plans.
They are also looking at possibilities of greater co-operation in health, pharmaceuticals, energy and tourism.
