President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a phone call on Tuesday from Bahrain’s King, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
King Hamad extended his congratulations to President Sisi on the occasion of Eid al-Adha (the Greater Bairam), wishing Egypt and its people continued progress, advancement, and prosperity, Presidency Spokesman Mohamed el-Shennawy said.
President Sisi voiced appreciation for this kind gesture by the King, praying that the blessed occasion be returned to Bahrain and to the Arab and Islamic nations with goodness and blessings. He also wished the Bahraini people continued security and stability.
The call underscored the deep-rooted bilateral relations, and commitment by the leadership in both countries to boosting co-operation across various fields in a way that meets the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples for greater progress and prosperity.
Both sides also emphasised the importance of maintaining ongoing political coordination and consultation on issues of mutual concern.
