President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni at the presidential palace in Entebbe during his official visit to Uganda.

According to the Presidency Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy, the two leaders held expanded talks attended by delegations from both countries, followed by an in-camera meeting between the two leaders.

President Sisi congratulated President Museveni on his re-election for a new presidential term, describing it as a reflection of the Ugandan people’s confidence in his leadership.

He also praised the growing ties between Egypt and Uganda and stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation in agriculture, irrigation, healthcare, and training programmes for Ugandan professionals.

President Sisi reiterated Cairo’s commitment to expanding trade exchange and establishing sustainable investment partnerships that would serve the interests of both countries.

He also renewed his invitation to Museveni to attend the African Union Coordination Summit as well as the African Business Forum, which will be held in Egypt next June.

For his part, President Museveni commended Egypt’s influential role at both the African and international levels and described bilateral cooperation as a model for African integration.

The talks also addressed regional developments, particularly the situations in Sudan, Libya, and the occupied Palestinian territories.

The two leaders stressed the importance of coordination on Nile water issues and regional stability, with President Sisi underscoring the need for neighbouring countries to play a constructive role in restoring peace and security.
