President Abdel Fattah El Sisi conducted an inspection tour on Sunday at the Strategic Command Headquarters in the New Capital, where he was received by Defense Minister Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa and commanders of the main branches of the Armed Forces.
Presidential spokesman Mohamed el Shennawy said President Sisi performed noon prayers during the visit alongside military commanders before heading to the Egyptian Military Academy, where he inspected part of the training activities carried out by students from Egyptian military colleges as well as trainees attending academy courses from various ministries and state institutions.
Sisi underlined the importance of honing students’ capabilities through receiving the highest levels of training in line with top technical and personal standards to ensure the preparation of distinguished national cadres capable of serving state institutions efficiently.
The spokesman added that Sisi later joined academy students for lunch in what he described as a friendly atmosphere and held an interactive discussion with them on domestic conditions and current regional developments, including the impact of successive crises on the national economy, while praising the awareness and understanding shown by the Egyptian people.
In this context, President Sisi said the Iranian crisis and escalating tensions in the region had cast dangerous and negative repercussions on the global economy and regional stability, stressing that Egypt continues to uphold its longstanding approach supporting Arab unity and strengthening solidarity among sisterly nations based on the belief that the stability of the Arab world is a shared responsibility that cannot be divided.
The spokesman said Sisi also affirmed that the purpose of his visits to the academy is to personally monitor students’ conditions and follow educational programs that continue to undergo development, praising the seriousness and commitment shown by students from both Egyptian military colleges and trainees from various state institutions.
Sisi concluded his inspection tour by expressing his appreciation to the Armed Forces commanders and voicing his sincere wishes for success to academy students, while emphasizing the vital role played by students’ families in raising generations capable of achieving the nation’s development aspirations and building a more prosperous future.
