The Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) announced that its Electronics factory has secured Apple’s MFi (Made for iPhone/iPad) certification for Zerotek-branded chargers, marking a first for both Egypt and the Middle East.
The certification, granted by Apple after rigorous testing, confirms that the products — charging cables and adapters — meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and full compatibility with Apple devices.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the AOI said the achievement reflects the significant progress of Egypt’s national industry and highlights the Electronics factory’s capability to manufacture technology products in line with global standards.
The move is also seen as a success for efforts to localize advanced industries and strengthen reliance on Egyptian-made products in the technology sector.
The AOI added that the milestone was achieved in cooperation with Zerotek, an Egyptian private-sector company, underscoring the growing role of public-private partnerships in advancing industrial capabilities.
It noted that obtaining the certification enhances consumer confidence in locally manufactured electronics and supports Egypt’s broader strategy to boost exports and access new regional and international markets.
