Egypt’s Minister of Defence and Military Production and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, met on Thursday with students from the Military Academy for Postgraduate and Strategic Studies, the Command and Staff College, specialized military institutes, as well as cadets from the Egyptian Military Academy and military colleges via video conference.
The meeting, attended by Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa and senior military commanders, comes as part of the Armed Forces’ efforts to enhance the educational process and develop well-rounded military personnel.
Zaher conveyed President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s greetings and on Sinai Liberation Day, while reviewing regional and international developments and ways to advance military education.
He emphasized the importance of continuous learning and strengthening intellectual, physical, and technical capabilities.
The Minister of Defence also stressed the need for students to leverage technological advancements to support the Armed Forces’ operational readiness, while urging discipline, awareness, and caution in the use of social media to safeguard national security.
In a related context, Zahir met with participants of the first cohort of imams holding PhDs undergoing training at the Egyptian Military Academy, in cooperation with Al-Azhar and the Ministry of Awqaf (Religious Endowments).
He reviewed their training programme and discussed its impact on enhancing leadership and intellectual skills, supporting their role in serving society.
