TASHKENT — Egyptian Taekwondo player Salma Mohamed Essam achieved third place and won the bronze medal in the under-59kg category at the World Taekwondo Junior Championships currently hosted in Uzbekistan from April 12 to 17.

She progressed to the semi-finals by defeating competitors from El Salvador (2-0), Morocco (2-1) and Mexico (2-0) before narrowly losing to the Turkish champion 2-1.

The players’ list includes 20 male and female athletes across various weight divisions.
