North Sinai is pushing ahead with its green agenda. The governor has joined national talks to track progress and speed up delivery.
Governor of North Sinai, Major General Dr Khaled Megawer, took part in a Zoom meeting from his office. He met the Minister of Local Development and Environment Dr Manal Awad. The session reviewed updates on smart green projects across Egypt’s governorates.

Officials looked at successful models already in place. They discussed how to support initiatives that cut emissions and protect resources. The focus was on practical steps, not slogans.
Participants stressed the need to use modern tools to tackle environmental pressures. Innovation, they said, must move from pilot schemes to real impact.

Megawer said the governorate is keen to support and implement such projects with the aim to improve daily life and safeguard natural assets.
Coordination with government will be key. In this regard, the governor confirmed ongoing work with the ministry to move projects forward. He described the file as “vital”.
