The Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority concluded the activities of the “Behaviour Detection” training course, held as part of close co-operation with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Office in Cairo.

This course is considered the first of its kind in Egypt within the framework of the Co-operative Aviation Security Programme (CASP-MID) affiliated with ICAO in the Middle East region, reflecting international confidence in Egypt’s organisational and training capabilities in this vital field.

The course was delivered by Youssef Hassan, CASP-MID Programme Coordinator and ICAO aviation security expert, along with Engineer Yasser Abdel Halim, Head of the Central Administration for Aviation Security and an international certified trainer.

The course was attended by more than 24 security experts from Egypt and Saudi Arabia, representing various airport authorities.

Participants from CASP-MID also included Ahmed Kamal Sobieh, Head of the experts team, and Roaa Al-Ghamdi, training courses supervisor, highlighting the importance of strengthening regional co-operation and exchanging expertise.

The five-day course aimed to qualify security personnel and provide them with the latest methods and advanced techniques in behaviour detection, enhancing their ability to predict risks, effectively counter unlawful interference attempts, and strengthen overall airport security systems.

At the closing ceremony, Captain Sameh Mohamed Fawzi, President of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, honoured the trainers and expressed appreciation to all participants. He emphasised that the Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el-Hefny places great importance on developing human capabilities in aviation security, considering the human factor as the cornerstone of achieving the highest levels of safety and security.

Participants from Egypt and Saudi Arabia expressed their appreciation for the high level of organisation and comprehensive logistical support, which contributed to the success of the course.

They also praised the leading role of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority in providing a professional training environment that supports knowledge exchange and capacity building among countries, helping achieve shared goals in aviation security at both regional and international levels.
