The high-level training course entitled “Training of Trainers for United Nations Leadership in support of Peace Restoration Efforts in Africa” was concluded on Thursday at the headquarters of the International Organisations Liaison Unit of the Military Intelligence Directorate.

The course was organised in co-operation with the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the participation of several regional partners and international organisations.

Throughout its duration, the course featured a series of specialised lectures, dialogue sessions and practical exercises, delivered using the latest training and qualification methodologies.

These activities provided a platform for officers from Egypt and several African countries to exchange both academic and practical expertise, with the aim of enhancing the capabilities of African personnel in maintaining peace and security and promoting stability across the continent.

The course brought together representatives from the ministries of defence and interior, as well as specialists from ministries of foreign affairs concerned with peace and security issues in sisterly and friendly African countries.

It also included participation from a number of Armed Forces officers nominated to serve in United Nations and African Union missions.

This course is part of a broader series of initiatives organised by the Liaison Office for International Organisations, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership and the General Command of the Armed Forces, which support peace and security efforts across Africa.

It reflects Egypt’s ongoing commitment to supporting African nations and strengthening their national capacities in the fields of peacekeeping, security and post-conflict stabilisation.

The closing ceremony was attended by a number of specialists from the Egyptian Armed Forces, experts and representatives from the Liaison Office for International Organisations, Assistant Ministers of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs, the Secretary of the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as several embassy representatives and military attachés accredited to Egypt.
