Egypt’s Minister of Labour Hassan Raddad, on Tuesday, received President of the British University in Egypt (BUE) Mohamed Lotfy, accompanied by representatives from the ministry’s relevant departments in information and vocational training.
During the meeting, Minister Raddad reviewed a proposal by the university president for a joint project aimed at supporting and preparing Egyptian youth to work in the Italian labour market.
The initiative involves collaboration with the European Union, the Ain Shams University, and the Italian Agency for Development Co-operation.
It seeks to provide specialised training programmes for youth, focusing on technical and language skills aligned with Italian market requirements, opening new opportunities for qualified Egyptian workers.
Meanwhile, the minister was updated on the developing a comprehensive electronic employment platform to connect job seekers with opportunities, both at home and oversea, to facilitate recruitment and training processes.
The proposed platform aims to provide an accurate database of Egyptian workers, improve vocational and employment services, and respond to evolving labour market needs.
Minister Raddad emphasised the importance of boosting partnerships with academic institutions and international organisations to support Egypt’s efforts in preparing a skilled workforce capable of competing in regional and global labour markets.
