The Egyptian Airlines Pilots Association held its annual Iftar, a gathering that emphasised unity and professional pride across the civil aviation sector.

During the event, the Association expressed its full support for the political leadership’s decision to renew confidence in Sameh El-Hefny as the Minister of Civil Aviation.

Members praised the minister for his deep understanding of the industry and his commitment to creating a positive and productive work environment for everyone in this vital sector.

The celebration brought together a distinguished group of leaders, including Minister El-Hefny, the heads of the Civil Aviation Authority, the EgyptAir Holding Company, and the Holding Company for Airports.

This annual tradition aims to strengthen the bonds between all sectors of aviation, fostering a family-like atmosphere that encourages co-operation and growth. Leaders at the event noted that such gatherings are essential for building bridges between different generations of professionals.

President of the Association Captain Ali Roshdy highlighted that the aviation industry serves as the backbone of the national economy.

He paid special tribute to veteran pilots, noting that their mentorship has taught the younger generation the importance of ethics and chivalry.

He urged young pilots to stay dedicated to their profession and to work hard for the advancement of Egypt’s national airline, especially given the current challenges facing the region.

Adding to this sentiment, Vice President Captain Khaled Refaat explained that the success of the aviation system depends on mutual respect and teamwork. He specifically recognised the brave role pilots and cabin crews have played recently in evacuating citizens from difficult areas during regional conflicts.

The event concluded with a ceremony honouring veteran pilots for their lifelong contributions and the lasting impact they have made on the field of civil aviation.
