President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity.
During a telephone conversation with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Tuesday, the Egyptian president emphasised Cairo’s commitment to backing the Lebanese state’s efforts to extend the authority of national institutions across all Lebanese territories.
He also highlighted Egypt’s intensified diplomatic engagement at regional and international levels to shield Lebanon from the repercussions of ongoing regional escalations, reflecting Cairo’s conviction of the importance of Arab and international support for Lebanon during this critical period.
President Aoun, for his part, expressed deep appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast positions and continued support for Lebanon, noting that Egypt’s commitment to the country’s security and stability reflects the long-standing historical ties and brotherly relations between the two nations and their peoples.
The discussion included a briefing by President Aoun on Lebanon’s ongoing efforts to consolidate weapons under state control, strengthen national authority, and address humanitarian challenges arising from the ongoing conflict, said the Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy.
He noted that the president reaffirmed Egypt’s readiness to support Lebanon in addressing these challenges, underscoring Cairo’s preparedness to provide relief assistance to mitigate the consequences of the displacement crisis resulting from military operations.
