CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawy said an amount of LE7.8 billion are available to implement the investment plan in different governorates in the first half of 2022.
The plan includes improving and expanding electricity girds, paving roads, improving environment and security in addition to improving traffic, Shaarawy said in a statement on Thursday.
There is coordination between the projects included in the investment plans of the governorates and the developmental plans included in the central plans of the ministries in order not to duplicate any project, he said.
Many projects included in 2021/2022 plan at the level of the governorates meet the needs of their residents and agree with the priorities of the government.
The plan aims at implementing small and medium enterprises that have economic impact in addition to facilitating transportation between villages and cities and solving traffic jams, he added.
Shaarawy said the governors are authorized to continuously follow up the implementation rates of the developmental projects implemented in their governorates and remove any hindrances facing these projects to achieve the best living standards for the citizens and provide job opportunities.
