Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production, Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, affirmed on Tuesday the unwavering commitment of Egypt’s Armed Forces to safeguarding national security and supporting civil society.

During a briefing on the Northern Military Region’s development and modernisation, the minister highlighted the strategic advancements of the region and its growing role in civil support initiatives.

The briefing was followed by an Iftar banquet shared with the region troops, symbolising the close bond between military leadership and personnel.

Senior military leaders including Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces, and commanders of the principal service branches, were present in the event.

Vice-Admiral Mahmoud Fawzy, Commander of the Naval Forces, addressed the assembly, emphasising that naval personnel remain dedicated to achieving the highest levels of combat readiness and excellence, regardless of the sacrifices required, in service of the nation’s honour.

In a continued demonstration of solidarity with the troops, Lieutenant General Zaher engaged with naval personnel across the Northern Military Region and all naval bases nationwide via videoconference.

He reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ ongoing focus on advancing combat and technical capabilities across all specialties, ensuring preparedness to counter emerging risks and threats.

He further highlighted the importance of maintaining the highest levels of operational readiness, positioning the Armed Forces as both a strong shield and an impregnable fortress for the Egyptian people.
