The Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN), in partnership with Airports Council International – Africa Region (ACI Africa), has successfully concluded an intensive regional training programme titled “Excellence in Customer Service: Enhancing the Passenger Experience.”

Hosted at the Cairo Airport Company Training Centre under the umbrella of the African Airport Development Programme (AADP), this initiative underscores the growing influence of Egyptian airports as primary centres for capacity building and knowledge transfer throughout the continent.

The curriculum was specifically designed to equip aviation specialists with the strategic frameworks and practical tools required to manage the end-to-end passenger journey, focusing on facility development, operational efficiency, and the cultivation of a service-oriented corporate culture.

Beyond service delivery, the programme addressed the vital intersection of operational excellence and financial sustainability.

Participants explored mechanisms to translate enhanced passenger experiences into tangible commercial growth, particularly by boosting non-aeronautical revenues.

A significant portion of the training was dedicated to the integration of digital transformation and innovation within airport infrastructure planning.

By aligning these advancements with modern governance, environmental standards, and social responsibility, the programme ensures that infrastructure investments yield the highest possible returns while meeting global aviation benchmarks.

Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation Ayman Fawzy Arab emphasised that hosting this regional event reinforces Egypt’s position as a regional hub for leadership and expertise in civil aviation.

He noted that the partnership with ACI Africa is a commitment to developing human capital across the continent, providing high-level, complimentary training to member airports to build a globally competitive African aviation ecosystem.

With trainees from five African nations in attendance, the initiative serves as a cornerstone of Egypt’s efforts to maximise its role as a premier destination for specialized training in Africa and the Middle East.

Chairman of Cairo Airport Company Magdy Ishaq also highlighted that the strategy of Cairo International Airport is centred on consolidating its status as a regional leader in capacity building.

He remarked that elevating service quality is no longer optional but is a critical driver of competitiveness and brand reputation.

By providing a platform for African professionals to exchange best practices and design seamless travel experiences, the program prepares a new generation of qualified personnel to drive economic and tourism growth across the African continent.
