Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said Monday the government is committed to examining and monitoring the repercussions of social media platforms and electronic games failing to comply with children and youth safety standards.
The prime minister’s remarks came during a meeting, held at the government’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to discuss measures to protect children and youth from harmful content on social media, in implementation of presidential directives in this regard.
He noted that many advanced countries are currently working on governing and regulating the use of social media and electronic games in order to protect young people and safeguard society.
The meeting also followed up on steps to establish a regulatory framework obligating digital platforms to enhance online safety and to take various proactive measures to ensure the protection of children and youth.
