Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty lauded the role played by the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) in Sinai since its establishment following the signing of the Egyptian-Israeli Peace Treaty.
This came during Abdelatty’s meeting with Director General of the MFO in Sinai Elizabeth Dibble where they discussed ways to enhance existing cooperation between the two sides, along with issues related to the force’s mandate and its role in supporting peace and stability in the region.
Official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tamim Khallaf said that Abdelatty asserted that the presence of the MFO constitutes a pivotal element in supporting the foundations of security and stability.
Meanwhile, Dibble praised the constructive cooperation with Egypt and the special attention given by the relevant authorities to facilitating the work of the MFO and providing the necessary support.
She affirmed her keenness to continue coordination and consultation with Egypt in support of the force’s mission and in enhancing stability in the region.
