Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty affirmed Egypt’s pride in the deep fraternal and historical relations with Saudi Arabia, and in the growing momentum these relations are witnessing at various levels.

This came during a telephone call between Abdelatty and Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom, within the framework of the ongoing coordination and consultation between the two countries.

During the call, Minister Abdelatty pointed to the importance of building on this momentum in the coming phase and completing the ongoing arrangements to convene the first meeting of the Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council, in a manner that reflects the shared political will to elevate the strategic partnership between the two countries, in a way that enhances Arab interests and regional stability.

The two ministers exchanged views on developments in the Gaza Strip, where Minister Abdelatty stressed the importance of ensuring the sustainability of the ceasefire and implementing the obligations of the second phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan, emphasizing the necessity of implementing UN Security Council Resolution No. 2803.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also highlighted the importance of deploying a temporary international stabilization force to monitor the ceasefire, protect civilians, and enable Palestinian forces to assume law enforcement responsibilities in the Gaza Strip, in addition to ensuring unimpeded access for humanitarian aid and creating the conditions for the start of early recovery and reconstruction.

The call also addressed developments in Sudan, where the two ministers affirmed the importance of continued coordination within the framework of the Quadrilateral Mechanism, with the aim of reaching a comprehensive ceasefire. In this regard, Minister Abdelatty underscored the importance of providing safe havens and humanitarian corridors to ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian assistance.

He renewed Egypt’s firm position in support of Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and stability, and the preservation of its national institutions.

At the conclusion of the call, both sides emphasized the importance of continuing close coordination and consultation in the coming period, in a manner that contributes to supporting regional stability and strengthening joint Arab action in the face of current challenges.
