The National Elections Authority (NEA), chaired by Justice Hazem Badawi, affirmed today that the first round of Phase Two of the House of Representatives elections was conducted in an orderly, democratic, and disciplined atmosphere.

The process witnessed strong participation from citizens across all segments of society, robust competition among candidates, and positive evaluations from both local and international observer missions.

During a press conference held to announce the results of Phase Two, Justice Badawi stated that the NEA maintained full oversight of all stages of the electoral process—from the launch of campaigning and the conduct of voting to the counting of ballots and the handling of appeals.

He underlined that the identification of any violations does not detract from the integrity or transparency of the elections; rather, it reflects the maturity of Egypt’s democratic system, which allows for the detection of irregularities and ensures a clear legal mechanism for addressing them.

In the interest of full transparency, Badawi clarified that the NEA Board thoroughly reviewed all appeals, observations, and complaints submitted by candidates and observers, as well as material circulating on social media. This included reports referred by the Public Prosecution regarding incidents recorded by security authorities outside polling stations.

The ballots from both subcommittees were excluded. The NEA confirmed that these measures do not affect the final outcomes in either constituency.

The authority reiterates its unwavering commitment to ensuring fair, transparent, and credible electoral processes that uphold the will of the Egyptian people.
