The Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by Al Azhar Grand Imam Sheikh Ahmed el Tayyeb, expressed its sincere condolences to Bangladesh over the victims of the earthquake that struck the country, leaving a number of people dead and injured.
In a statement on Sunday, the Council reiterated its full solidarity with Bangladesh’s government and people in the wake of the tragedy, stressing the importance of strengthening humanitarian cooperation and intensifying relief efforts to mitigate the impact of such natural disasters.
The council extended its condolences to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
