SUEZ – Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli reviewed Sunday progress of key projects and community initiatives in Suez Governorate during a tour that included inaugurating and inspecting a number of development sites.

Suez Governor Tarek Hamed el-Shazly said that the governorate is advancing projects in roads, education, housing and infrastructure, including upgrades to main streets and the construction of new schools, such as Nile International and STEM schools.

Shazly said Suez Governorate is renovating old housing complexes and building a new 30-feddan residential city with 124 buildings, shops and services.

As part of a fully integrated future vision, the governorate aims to attract investment through its first investment conference, featuring plans for a 250-feddan residential compound and several tourism and commercial projects, he added.

Suez Governorate also plans initiatives to boost youth employment and tourism, including a promotional campaign titled “Come to Suez,” said the governor.

The province is improving rural services, enhancing government performance and continuing to upgrade utilities and road networks, he added.

Suez has launched a number of community campaigns – such as “Use It Right” to promote resource conservation, “Suez Ambassadors” to raise cultural awareness as well as other initiatives that focused on safety, cleanliness and affordable food supplies, according to the governor.

Cultural and sports events have also been held, including the first Suez Fishing Festival, beach sports tournaments and heritage activities celebrating the city’s cultural identity, he said.
