CAIRO – President Abdel Fattah El Sisi lauded the plans of US oil giant Apache for expanding its operations in Egypt, in accordance with the highest international standards.

Sisi made the remarks on Sunday during his meeting with Apache CEO John Christmann, in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi and Apache’s Vice President and Country Manager in Egypt Greg McDaniel, said Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El Shennawy.

The president said that Apache is one of the most important partners of the country’s oil and gas sectors, noting that the US company’s operations have sent a positive message about the strength of Egyptian-US cooperation and helped encourage further American investments in Egypt’s energy industry.The meeting took up the operations of Apache in Egypt and its plans to expand its oil and gas research, exploration and production activities.

On his part, the Apache CEO expressed his appreciation for meeting President Sisi once again, stressing the company’s aspiration to intensify its operations for boosting production in the coming period, given the promising opportunities for new discoveries.

The president was posted on the progress of Apache’s exploration program in the newly awarded concession areas in the Western Desert, reaffirming Egypt’s readiness to provide all necessary facilitation and support to the company in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both sides.
