Egyptian Prime Minister, Moustafa Madbouli, has followed up on efforts to solve the problems facing investors, including ones related to the allocation of plots of land for investment projects.
The government, the prime minister said yesterday, provides investors with various facilities, especially when it comes to the allocation of plots of land for the construction of industrial and logistical projects.
He added that the facilities contribute to achieving the development goals of the different sectors of the economy.
The prime minister underscored the importance of implementing the national investment map.
He said the General Investment Authority plays an important role in promoting and marketing plots of land and projects within the map.
“The authority has turned into an important platform for the promotion of investment projects across our country,” the prime minister said.
During the meeting, which was attended by a large number of cabinet ministers and government officials, the prime minister instructed the government to intensify communication with investors, especially those wishing to obtain plots of land for projects or those who want to obtain additional lands to expand their own projects.
The prime minister referred also to the importance of communicating with investors investing in activities targeted for growth by the government in the coming period.
The government, he said, has to respond quickly to any requests submitted by investors.
He also called for studying the financial and technical solvency of investors applying for plots of land to ensure the implementation of projects.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Madbouli directed the government to form a working group to study the different problems of the investors and work on solving them in coordination with the different state agencies.
The working group, the prime minister said, has to convene regularly to discuss the different problems and specify time frames for its work.
He added that the group has to provide him with reports about its work on a regular basis.
Minister of Trade and Industry, Neveen Gamie, referred to the presence of a government committee, whose mission is to speed up the allocation of plots of land to industrial investors.
The committee, she said, abides by a series of rules as it does its work.
She added that the committee contains representatives of the various state agencies who coordinate among each other to speed up the allocation of plots of land to the investors.
