Egypt’s Minister of Transport Kamel el-Wazir Sunday said that “Correct Your Concepts” initiative represents a unified intellectual platform aimed at correcting misconceptions that contradict the moderate teachings of Islam.
He added that the initiative aims to raise social awareness through lectures, seminars, and media campaigns to counter rumors and ideological deviations.
The minister was addressing the launching ceremony of the initiative that took place in the Sports City in the New Administrative Capital, in the presence of a galaxy of ministers, religious and intellectual leaders, and representatives of several ministries and agencies.
The Ministry of Transport’s participation in this national campaign is not only in its capacity as an executive body for transport tasks, but also as a key contributor to comprehensive societal awareness, Wazir.
He highlighted signing a cooperation protocol between the Ministries of Transport and Awqaf under the slogan: “Correct Your Concepts … Your Safety Matters to Us.”
The protocol aims to support awareness and advocacy activities related to transportation, helping safeguard citizens’ lives and public property, as well as promoting positive religious and social values, Wazir said.
The minister said that the cooperation includes awareness programs, workshops, and seminars, in addition to the exchange of scientific materials and digital content, stressing that sound awareness is not a luxury but a necessity for protecting both the homeland and its people, particularly against negative behaviors by some road and transport users that lead to severe human and material losses.
