A high-level delegation from Egypt’s civil aviation sector, led by the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN), recently concluded a successful visit to the German technology company Rohde & Schwarz.
The visit aimed to explore advanced air navigation and communications solutions, strengthening a key strategic partnership as Egypt continues to modernise its airport infrastructure and air navigation services.

Engineer Ayman Fawzy Arab, Chairman and Managing Director of EHCAAN, and Captain Ihab Mohie, Chairman and Managing Director of the National Air Navigation Services Company (NANSC), were welcomed by senior leadership at Rohde & Schwarz, including Dirk Durschok, Vice President for the Middle East and Africa, and Marius Münstermann, Vice President of Air Traffic Control.
The visit included a series of official meetings and extensive tours of production lines, testing laboratories, and innovation centres.

“This visit marks a strategic step toward expanding technical co-operation with major international companies,” stated Arab.
“The Egyptian state places the utmost importance on modernizing airport infrastructure and air navigation services to enhance our regional and international competitiveness.”

The Egyptian delegation reviewed the latest technologies in critical areas such as high-reliability VHF/HF ground communication systems, frequency management, and early detection and remote control systems.
They also explored secure and encrypted communication systems vital for air safety in sensitive environments.

Captain Ihab Mohie expressed his appreciation for the technical insights gained from the visit, noting that the firsthand experience with advanced systems would help enhance Egyptian airspace capabilities and achieve the highest standards of efficiency and safety.
This aligns with NANSC’s strategy for digital transformation and improving technical performance within the air navigation sector.

Rohde & Schwarz is a global leader in communications, cybersecurity, and air traffic control solutions, with over 90 years of experience and a presence in more than 70 countries. The visit is part of EHCAAN’s broader strategy to develop airports and services, as well as NANSC’s ongoing plan to align its technical systems with the latest international standards.
