PM hails efforts of Cabinet’s Supreme Medical Committee in handling critical cases

CAIRO- Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli Tuesday praised ongoing efforts of the Cabinet’s Supreme Medical Committee and its dedication to monitoring medical appeals and providing urgent interventions in critical cases.

The premier directed the committee to continue its vital role in delivering healthcare services nationwide and constantly enhance its performance.

Madbouli made the remarks while reviewing a report submitted by Cabinet’s Medical Advisor and Head of the Supreme Medical Committee Hossam el Masry detailing the committee’s activities during August.

The committee had handled 1,065 medical appeals received through WhatsApp, media outlets, and social media platform, Masry said, adding that each case was addressed according to its urgency and requirements.The emergency response included the issuance of 159 treatment-at-state-expense decision by the prime minister during August, Masry said.He added that the committee provided medical procedures for 42 cases requiring Gamma Knife surgery, and issued 35 approvals for half-matched bone marrow transplantation.

The premier had issued treatment decisions for 38 emergency cases in August, while 98 appeals for critical medications were successfully addressed throughout August, the report read.
