The Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority concluded the advanced training course on aviation security licensing, which targeted a group of directors from the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology of the Republic of Yemen – Aden.

The two-week programme was held as part of the ongoing technical co-operation between both sides, aiming to enhance the Arab civil aviation security system and unify concepts and standards in line with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), ensuring alignment with the latest international practices in this vital field.

The course covered advanced topics in security licensing procedures, including technical and practical qualification for aviation security trainers, security screeners, and national inspectors.

Training was delivered by a distinguished team from the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, including Eng. Yasser Abdel Halim, Head of the Central Department of Aviation Security; Ahmed Kamal Sobeih, Director of Security Training; and Ahmed Fahmy, Senior Aviation Security Inspector.

The programme focused on requirements for issuing security licenses for professionals in training, supervision, and inspection fields, as well as methodologies for evaluating and reviewing competencies and qualifications of national cadres.

Practical training was also provided through the Computer-Based Training (CBT) system, one of the modern technological pillars proudly adopted by the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority.

For his part, Captain Amr El-Sharkawy emphasised that this course reflects the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s vision to broaden horizons of sustainable co-operation and strengthen the capabilities of Arab partners across all areas of civil aviation, particularly aviation security, highlighting Egypt’s pioneering regional and international role in supporting safe skies in line with the highest global standards.

At the conclusion of the programme, the Yemeni participants expressed their deep appreciation for the distinguished efforts of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority in terms of training content, trainers’ expertise, and the high level of organisation and technical facilities, all of which created an ideal training environment that positively contributed to enhancing their professional competencies.
