Defence Min. inspects Southern Military Zone 1 - Egyptian Gazette

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production, General Abdel Mageed Saqr, made an inspection tour of the Southern Military Zone, where he met with several of its personnel.

The meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, as well as senior commanders of the main branches and several high-ranking officers. 

This visit comes as part of a series of field inspections conducted by the General Command, aimed at evaluating the combat readiness and morale of Armed Forces personnel.

During the visit, Commander of the Southern Military Zone, Major General Osama Samir Abdel Latif, delivered a speech in which he underscored the steadfast support extended by the General Command to the zone.

He highlighted the firm commitment of the Southern Military Zone’s personnel to enhancing their training standards, striving to achieve the highest levels of preparedness and operational efficiency, and ensuring their ability to execute assigned missions with professionalism and effectiveness.

In his address, Saqr conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the personnel of the Southern Military Zone.

He stressed the importance of maintaining the highest standards of combat readiness and operational effectiveness, underlining the continuous need to develop the physical fitness and technical expertise of all military personnel.

The defense minister stressed the vital importance of keeping weapons and equipment in peak condition and ensuring their effective use, to maintain the Armed Forces in a constant state of readiness and fully capable of carrying out any mission under all conditions.

He further underlined the essential role of continuous learning and strategic awareness, urging all personnel to stay well-informed of current developments and shifting dynamics at the local, regional, and international levels.

After the visit, Saqr joined the troops for a meal and commended their dedication to safeguarding national security and upholding the nation’s strategic interests and resources.
