In a joint effort to bolster public health measures and ensure the well-being of all travelers Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el-Hefny and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar recently conducted an inspection tour of the quarantine clinics at Cairo International Airport.

The visit underscored the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s unwavering commitment to the health and safety of travellers, achieved through robust coordination with health authorities and adherence to the highest international public health standards.

During the tour, which encompassed quarantine clinics in Terminals 2 and 3, both ministers meticulously assessed the readiness of medical facilities and the implementation of preventive measures designed to safeguard the health of both travelers and airport personnel.

Their inspection included arrival and departure clinics, as well as temporary isolation rooms, to thoroughly examine the available technical and medical capabilities.

The clinics at Cairo International Airport are equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, including modern cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) units, vital signs monitoring devices, and comprehensive first aid equipment. Furthermore, essential emergency medications are readily available to address any immediate medical needs.

El-Hefny expressed his appreciation for the Ministry of Health and Population’s continuous support in strengthening the health infrastructure across all Egyptian airports.

He reiterated that the health and safety of travelers remain a paramount concern for the Ministry of Civil Aviation, achieved through seamless integration and coordination among all relevant stakeholders.

For his part, Abdel Ghaffar affirmed the Ministry of Health’s dedication to overseeing the implementation of the nationwide CPR training plan.

This comprehensive plan extends to hospitals, healthcare centers, emergency facilities, and large public gathering sites, with the critical objective of reducing response times and significantly increasing survival rates in emergency situations.

The ministers also reviewed ongoing training and awareness initiatives focused on “sudden cardiac arrest” and the proper use of automatic defibrillators (AEDs).

These  programmes are vital in strengthening the overall medical emergency system by training government facility employees and citizens in high-traffic areas and youth centers.

This proactive approach aims to enhance the efficiency of initial emergency responses in all public gathering locations.
