Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a phone call from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said the two presidents discussed the latest developments in the Russian-Ukrainian crisis. President Sisi emphasised the importance of reaching diplomatic and political solutions, and the need to prioritise dialogue as a means of resolving the ongoing conflict. He reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for all efforts aimed at reaching a peaceful settlement as soon as possible.

The spokesperson added that the call also addressed the situation in the Middle East and the importance of restoring stability in the region.

Both leaders stressed the necessity of maintaining the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran and underscored the need to return to the negotiating table to achieve a peaceful resolution.

President El Sisi also reviewed Egypt’s ongoing efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza Strip and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.

The two presidents further discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new avenues of cooperation across various sectors, particularly in economic, trade, and investment fields, in a manner that serves the interests of both countries and their peoples.
