The Egyptian airspace is safe and flights are operating normally, the Civil Aviation Ministry confirmed.
Coordination is ongoing with neighboring countries in light of the decision taken by some countries to close their airspace amid the escalating regional tensions, the ministry said in a statement on Friday.
Preparedness levels have been heightened at Cairo International Airport to accommodate any flights that may be diverted from neighboring countries due to the closure of the airspace in some countries in the region.
The ministry added it is closely monitoring the situation, saying it will provide timely updates as developments unfold.
