President Abdel Fattah El Sisi performed Eid al-Adha prayers early Friday morning at Misr Mosque in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, marking the occasion alongside top state officials.

Joining the President were Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed El-Tayeb, Minister of Defense and Military Production General Abdel Meguid Saqr, Minister of Awqaf Osama El-Azhari, and other senior government figures.

Following the Eid Takbirs and prayers, the mosque’s imam delivered a sermon highlighting the profound spiritual and ethical dimensions of Hajj. Describing it as one of the most significant acts of worship, he emphasized its role in nurturing moral values and deepening spiritual awareness.

Citing the Qur’anic verse, “That they may witness benefits for themselves,” the imam underscored the pilgrimage’s far-reaching impact—not only on individuals but also on society and nations. He explained that Hajj fosters introspection, spiritual renewal, and a shift in focus from worldly concerns to the eternal.

The sermon also emphasized the pilgrimage’s powerful message of unity and coexistence. With millions of Muslims from various ethnic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds performing the same rituals together, Hajj serves as a living example of tolerance, mutual respect, and shared humanity, he said.
