CAIRO – Egypt’s agricultural exports rose to around 4.8 million tons so far in 2025, up nearly 500,000 tons from the same period last year, Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister Alaa Farouk said on Friday.

Citrus topped the list with 1.8 million tons, followed by potatoes at 1.1 million tons, according to a report submitted to the minister. Beans ranked third with 130,000 tons, followed by fresh onions and sweet potatoes.

Other key exports included strawberries, tomatoes, garlic, guava, grapes, and pomegranates.

Farouk attributed the growth to improved farming practices, quality control, and joint efforts from farmers, exporters, and government bodies. He urged continued support to sustain export growth and enhance foreign currency inflows.
