EgyptAir has announced a major step forward in its digital transformation strategy, signing a strategic agreement with global air transport technology provider SITA. The move aims to modernise the national carrier’s infrastructure to meet the evolving demands of the aviation industry.

The agreement was signed during a ceremony attended by Ahmed Adel, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company, and SITA’s President for the Middle East, Africa and Turkey. The deal was formalised by Yasser Omran, EgyptAir’s Chief Information Officer, and Houssam Dakroub, SITA’s Head of Sales for Francophone North Africa.

Under the agreement, EgyptAir will adopt SITA’s Connect Go solution, offering faster, more flexible, and scalable connectivity to support growing bandwidth, security, and automation needs. Additionally, EgyptAir operations will benefit from SITA’s Community Departure Control System (DCS), which is designed to streamline ground handling and improve cost-efficiency across the airline’s network.

The airline will also upgrade its core infrastructure with secure airport connectivity, enhanced infrastructure protection, secure access management through Secure Service Edge (SSE), and improved messaging systems with guaranteed service quality. These upgrades aim to reduce reliance on legacy systems, boost network visibility, and mitigate operational risks.

“EgyptAir is committed to adopting cutting-edge technological solutions to modernise its communications systems and keep pace with the rapid growth in tourism and travel,” said Ahmed Adel. “This partnership is a cornerstone of our broader digital transformation strategy. As the aviation industry increasingly depends on smart solutions, we are working to bring that future to life through strategic partnerships like this one.”

Adel added that the collaboration with SITA represents a long-term investment in EgyptAir’s operational future, ensuring high standards of efficiency and service quality across its operations.
