CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held late on Saturday a phone call with his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar during which he offered his sincere condolences to the Indian people and government over the victims of the terrorist attack in Kashmir.

He renewed Egypt’s rejection of all forms of terrorism and extremism, underlining the need to exercise self-restraint at this critical stage to avoid more escalations and to support efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.

The top diplomat lauded relations between the two countries, reiterating keenness on maintaining joint efforts to boost strategic partnership between the two friendly countries in all fields.

The Indian minister expressed his appreciation for the good gesture and for the contact held by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi with the Indian prime minister on Thursday in which he extended his heartfelt condolences to the Indian government over the victims of the terrorist attack.Jaishankar lauded deeply-rooted relations binding Egypt with India, expressing hope for more cooperation to boost bilateral relations
