Egypt has reaffirmed its growing influence in Africa’s aviation industry with a prominent presence at the 73rd Airports Council International – Africa (ACI Africa) Conference and Exhibition, currently underway in Arusha, Tanzania. The event, taking place from April 24 to 30, 2025, brings together top airport executives, policymakers, and international aviation organizations from across the continent.
Representing Egypt is a high-level delegation from the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, led by Chairman Eng. Ayman Fawzy Arab. The delegation is actively participating in all technical, security, environmental, economic, innovation, and human resources committees—marking the company’s most comprehensive engagement in the annual event to date.

Eng. Arab also took part in the 73rd ACI Africa Board of Directors meeting and the African Airport CEOs Forum. As a keynote speaker in the highly anticipated “African Airport CEO Panel,” he joined prominent figures including ACI World Director General Justin Erbacci and a host of African aviation leaders to discuss key topics such as operational excellence, digital transformation, sustainability, and innovation in airport management.
“This engagement underscores Egypt’s commitment to building stronger regional partnerships and sharing expertise in aviation management,” said Arab. “Our full participation across all committees reflects a genuine drive to expand collaboration and reinforce Egypt’s role as a central hub for African aviation.”
The conference comes at a time when Egypt is actively working to strengthen its international aviation profile. According to Arab, discussions are currently underway to open a regional ACI Africa office in Cairo—an initiative that would solidify Egypt’s strategic role in the continent’s air transport ecosystem and support broader development and integration efforts among African nations.
Hosted this year by the Tanzania Airports Authority, the ACI Africa Conference is the continent’s largest gathering for airport industry professionals. Held under the theme “Towards a More Environmentally Sustainable Future: Leveraging Aviation and Sustainable Tourism for Economic Prosperity,” the event focuses on striking a balance between economic growth and environmental preservation, fostering innovation in airport operations, and advancing policies for sustainable development.
The week-long forum features interactive sessions, leadership roundtables, and a major international exhibition showcasing the latest advancements in aviation technologies and solutions—setting the stage for future growth and collaboration across Africa’s rapidly evolving air transport sector.
