Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi engaged in a telephone conversation with Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb on Friday to inquire about the Grand Imam’s well-being.
During the call, President El Sisi conveyed his sincere wishes for a swift and full recovery, along with continued good health and wellness, according to official statements released by the Presidency and Al Azhar.
In response, Grand Imam el Tayyeb expressed his profound appreciation to President Sisi for his thoughtful gesture and heartfelt prayers. He also acknowledged the President’s ongoing support for Al Azhar and its scholars in their efforts to promote moderation and tolerance, underscoring Egypt’s pivotal role in fostering regional stability and peace.
Furthermore, the two leaders exchanged greetings in anticipation of Eid al-Fitr, expressing their hopes for the occasion to bring prosperity, peace, and security to the Egyptian people, the Arab and Islamic nations, and the global community.
