The Egyptian Space Agency (ESA) and Aqmar Space Technology Company signed on Tuesday a strategic co-operation protocol to advance satellite manufacturing and development in the country.

The new agreement, sponsored by Professor Sherif Sedky, CEO of ESA, and Ahmed Nassar, CEO of Aqmar Space Technology Company, strengthens collaboration in satellite production and component manufacturing. It also leverages the agency’s cutting-edge infrastructure for environmental, mechanical, and electrical satellite testing.

This partnership establishes a new model of integration between Egyptian research institutions and technology companies in the space sector, the agency said in a statement, citing knowledge exchange, satellite operation, and securing the necessary frequencies for satellite communications.

Through this co-operation, Aqmar Space Technology Company will develop and manufacture satellite fleets for Internet of Things (IoT) services, communications, and imaging.

This initiative enhances Egypt’s technological capabilities, supports digital transformation, and introduces innovative space solutions.

Aqmar is the first Egyptian private sector company to manufacture and operate satellites, providing services to both local and international markets.
