Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat, participated on Tuesday in the “Shaping Horizons of Artificial Intelligence in Egypt” forum, in a significant step aimed at solidifying Egypt’s position as a regional leader in artificial intelligence.

Organized by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) in collaboration with 500 Global, the event gathered key players from AI-driven industries, venture capital firms, and government entities at the Digital Egypt Innovation Center, the ministry said in a statement.

Minister Talaat underscored the ministry’s proactive approach to shaping the future of AI in Egypt through open dialogue with the private sector, highlighting the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (2025-2030) as a cornerstone for fostering entrepreneurship, advancing technological innovation, and attracting investment.

The strategy is structured around six critical pillars—robust computing infrastructure, data governance, AI-powered systems development, workforce capacity building, regulatory frameworks, and a thriving AI ecosystem—all designed to accelerate Egypt’s AI adoption across key industries such as healthcare, banking, and ICT.

Echoing this vision, Eng Ahmed al-Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to bridging the gap between AI startups, investors, and major corporations.

With a focus on upskilling talent and enhancing AI capabilities, ITIDA is driving forward a future where Egyptian entrepreneurs can leverage artificial intelligence to create transformative solutions, al-Zaher noted

By fostering an ecosystem that encourages collaboration and investment, Egypt is not just embracing AI, but it is actively shaping the future of intelligent technology on a national and global scale.
