CAIRO – Presidential Adviser for Financial Affairs and Tahya Misr Fund Treasurer Mohamed Amin Nasr discussed with FAO Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for the Near East and North Africa Abdul Hakim Elwaer and the organization’s Representative in Egypt Nasredin Hag Elamin prospects of cooperation to support livelihood and improve the quality of life in the Egyptian countryside.

 

The meeting, attended by FAO Policy Officer for the Near East and North Africa Kayan Jaff, took up providing flexible tools to achieve economic development in the Egyptian countryside.

During the meeting, Taha Misr Fund executive director Tamer Abdel Fattah reviewed activities aiming to improve the quality of life in the Egyptian countryside as well as the presidential initiatives being implemented in the healthcare and economic development fields in addition to efforts of combating the impact of the coronavirus.

The meeting touched on supporting the FAO’s program on food loss and waste reduction at the domestic and regional levels, said Abdel Fattah.

Meanwhile, the FAO regional representative lauded Tahya Misr Fund’s efforts to boost partnership between the Egyptian government, the civil society organisations and the private sector.

He hailed as impressive the fund’s efforts to provide food for the categories that are eligible for assistance during the coronavirus pandemic.
